Three hospitalised following crash on N11

A driver and two passengers had a lucky escape when the car they were traveling in collided with a sign pole on the south bound lane on the M11 near junction 22 (Gorey/Inch) at around 8 am on Sunday morning.

The metal pole came up through the floor of the drivers footwell narrowly missing the Driver.

Fire units from Arklow, Rathdrum and Wicklow were in attendance. Cutting equipment was used to remove the roof of the car to allow access for the Ambulance service and the safe removal of the driver.

All occupants of the car were taken to hospital for treatment.
