Sleeping Beauty

We are delighted to welcome back Roundwood Variety Group who will stage their performance of Sleeping Beauty on Friday 31 Jan at 8pm,  Saturday 1 February at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday 2 Feb at 3 p.m.  Admission for night performances is 15 euro and 3 p.m. matinees on Saturday and Sunday 12 euro.  Tickets are on sale now – call 086 2451829.  A panto not to be missed, full of music, dance, comedy & lots & lots of fun. Car Boot Sale

The next Car Boot Sale will take place on Sunday 9 February 2014 (due to Roundwood Variety Group Show taking place on 2nd Feb) subsequent Car Boot Sales will take place as normal on the 1st Sunday of the month.  Vans must be booked in.  Contact the Brockagh Centre on 0404-45600.

 

Stepping into a Healthy Lifestyle

Link it Up.  Stepping into a healthy lifestyle.  Link it Up is a health initiative designed to encourage people by linking up the two elements of healthy lifestyle in one course: exercise and a healthy diet.  This course community based exercise and nutrition course will run in the Brockagh Centre for 6 Mondays commencing Monday 3 February 9.15-12.15 each day.  A contribution of 2 euro per week is requested towards the cost of food.  Topics covered include –Getting the best fitness benefits from walking; Improving flexibility & strength; Improving posture; Improve breathing; Exercise and eating; Food pyramid; Fibre providers; Focus on Fats; Food for Life;  Shop Smart.  For further information call the Brockagh Centre on (0404) 45600 or www.brockaghresourcecentre.ie.

 

Wicklow Man

The Wicklow Man is not here on Tuesday 28th January but he back to his normal Tuesday night slot at the Brockagh Centre on Tuesday nights from February 4 at 9.30 p.m.

 

School Admission Lists

Scoil Chaoimhín Naofa Primary School, Glendalough is currently accepting names for the admission lists into all classes for 2014 to 2017.  Please contact the office between 9.45 – 13.30 p.m. Phone 0404 45460. Enquiries welcome.

 

Operation Transformation

Still going strong in the Laragh Glendalough area.  The meet-ups are 7pm in the Brockagh Centre on Tuesday nights for weigh-in, short talk and walk – (note there is a 1 euro charge on Tuesday nights) and on Saturday mornings at 10 am at the Visitor Centre in Glendalough – people welcome to join at any time.  Please wear suitable footwear and clothing, wear a High Visibility reflective jacket/ vest and bring a torch (for night walk).  For further information check out our Facebook page Laragh Glendalough Operation Transformation (www.facebook.com/laragh.glendalough.operation.transformation) or call us on (0404) 45600.

 

Fitness Classes

Boot camp with Paul Healy back on Monday nights from 8.15 – 9 p.m.  Also junior and senior Tae Kwon Do on Monday and Friday nights.  Contact Paul on 087 2484570.  Circuit Training with Peter is back on Thursday nights from 6.45-7.45 p.m.  Contact Peter on 087 6319686.  Badminton Play for Men and Women (Senior) every Tuesday 8-9 p.m. & Thursday evening 9-10 p.m.  Juniors Tues 7-8.p.m. & Thurs 8-9.p.m.   No equipment necessary – racquets etc. available to newcomers.  Contact Finian on  086-2476822.

 

Community Garden

Funding of €800 for a polytunnel for our Community Garden has been received from Wicklow Co. Goodbye to Canon John

As Canon John McCullagh enters well-earned retirement we offer him and his wife Ruth our best wishes for the future and thank Canon John for all his work in the Laragh and Glendalough area during the past 5 years.

Living Willow & Basket Weaving

Learn how to make living willow furniture, garden fencing, tunnels and lots more.  This six-week beginner’s course will teach you some basic techniques, allowing you to add flare to your garden or vegetable patch and giving you the chance to try the techniques at home as you go.  Basket-weaving Workshop – This one day workshop will teach you some basic skills in traditional Irish basket-weaving.  No experience is required and you will bring home your very own handcrafted basket made of willow.  Both courses will start soon in the Brockagh Centre.  For more details, please contact Aoife at087-9773622 or email [email protected].

Gymboree Play and Music

Gymboree Play & Music!  Every Friday morning at 10 a.m. in the Brockagh Centre.  Suitable for babies, toddlers and pre-school children from 6months -4years!  Come along and teach your child a love of music through songs, dance, games and musical instruments.  Booking is essential as places are limited – contact Rachel on 086 8330212 to book your place

 

Masters of Running Workshop

AA Meetings

Closed AA Meetings are held in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 8.30 pm every Monday night.  If you think that you may have a problem with alcohol please come along.
