A contestant from Wicklow will audition for the Voice of Ireland this Sunday night RTE One.
24-year-old Peter Whitford, who lives in Bray but is originally from Newcastle in England, will perform an acoustic version of the Spice Girls hit ‘Viva Forever’.
Peter has lived in Bray for the past ten years with his mother, who is also a musician and plays in a rock band.
This is the final blind audition before the singers go into the battle phase, where they are put into pairs to compete in a sing-off.
Peter, who describes his voice as deep and compares it to Ian Curtis from Joy Division or Tom Smith from The Editors, says music is the only thing he wants to do and he would love to win the show.
Can Peter repeat the feat of fellow Wicklow man John Hogan Junior and make all four judges turn around?
