TINAHELY WALKING CLUB

On Sunday February 16 the walk is Brown Mountain/Scarr (grade B, 12km), meeting in Tinahely Square at 10.00am. OnS unday February 23 the walk is Croghanmoira (grade B, 10km), meeting in Tinahely Square at 10.30am. Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear. CARNEW CREDIT UNION SCHOOL QUIZ

The following were winners in the Carnew Credit Union School quiz Competition A Scoil Mhuire Na Naird, Shillelagh Team Youna McGrath, Madeline Nolan, Kirsta Ritina, Faye Doyle. Runner up Scoil Aodan Naofa Carnew Muireann Doyle, Tadgh Kelly, Ciaran Byrne, Jessica Kinsella.

Competition B winners Scoil Aodan Noafa Carnew Rachel Sheil, John Young, Owen Young, Rebecca Connaughton. Runner up St. Mary’s Coolfancy Alanna Davidson-Gahan, Ben Handrick, Ciaran O’Keeffe, Emma Mooney. Well done to all teams and best of luck to the winning teams at the chapter level of the quiz.

CARNEW COMMUNITY CARE POP UP SHOP

Carnew Community Care Pop up Shop takes place every Friday from 10 am – 2pm at the market place, Main Street, Carnew with second hand clothes, bric a brac, accessories, books and much much more come and see!!!

Also the boutique shop at Carnew Day Centre Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 11.30 – 3.30.

SCHOOL DEBATE

The Scoil Aodan Naofa debate team finished runners up in the recent primary schools debate final held in Wexford Education Centre, Cora Tyrell, Rachel Sheil and Lauren Byrne had blazed a trail through this year’s competition in their first time to take part in the event. Congratulations to the talented trio and their mentors Paula O’Riordan and Tena Sheil on their fine accomplishments this year. We hope that their pioneering efforts will inspire other children in years to come.

CARD DRIVES

The card drives continue on Monday nights in Askamore at 8.30pm tickets only €2 from any of the committee, all welcome, February 10th is Ballyellis N.S. 24th Lourdes Pilgrimage Trust.

AGM

Askamore Community Council will hold their AGM on Monday 3rd March in the activity centre all members of the community are welcome to attend.

RINGS

Rings have commenced in Askamore School House bar Thursday 13th at 9pm is the next night out, all welcome.

BOXING NIGHT

Congratulations and well done to all who took part in the annual boxing night last Saturday night in The Amber Springs Hotel Gorey, to all the sponsors, lighting, sound, ticket sellers, Referee, MC on the night and the O’Tooles for looking after the boxing and anyone involved in any way many thanks, a good night was had by all but a special thank you to the 24 boxers who got into the ring well done
