Wednesday night’s storm wreaked havoc on many parts of the county, with Arklow especially hit with localised flooding and coastal damage.
The scenic seawalk that stretches from the leisure centre to the holiday park was particularly badly hit.
Some areas of the new pathway were stripped clean away by the force of the waves and large sheets of tarmac lay strewn behind the coastal defences.
Large areas surrounding the duckpond still bear the scars of the storm with uprooted trees, flooded paths and debris scattered far and wide.
Further on down the North Beach, a holiday home that is literally metres from the shore and familiar to many locals, took the brunt of the sea’s power.
The front porch of the building was ripped from its foundations and the garden wall, which has stood since the Kynochs era, has completely toppled.
