SafePass and Chainsaw Course

Carnew Training and Development centre will be running the following;-

SafePass course on Saturday 29th March €75 (includes lunch and Safepass card)

Basic Chainsaw course commencing April 7th to 11th .  This is a 5 day course delivered by Coillte.  The course covers safety, maintenance, cross cutting and felling (up to 15” diameter timber), course progression to the advanced course which will be run early May.  This is a popular course, required for working in the forestry industry.

DAFFODIL DAY

Friday 28th March is  Daffodil Day.    You can be part of this Daffodil Day appeal  by joining us for a Coffee Morning  in the Courthouse Arts Centre, Tinahely,  on Friday 28th March 10 a.m – 1 p.m.   Daffodil pins at €3 will be for sale throughout the morning.  Daffodil Day is the Irish Cancer Society’s annual fundraising campaign. Thank you as always for your valued and wonderful support.

SYMPATHY
Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Bridget Brennan, Oakfield Nurshing Home, Courtown and formely Community Village Carnew who died recently and was buried in Clonegal cemetry.

TINAHLEY WALKING CLUB
The walk on Sunday 30th March is Kelly’s Lough (grade B, 14km 3.5 hours approx) please make sure to wear proper walking boots and bring adquate food and drinks etc, meet Tinahely Square at 10.30am, full details on the Tinahely.ie website.

Old mobile phones are being collected for local children   boxes in Carnew Post Office or McCarthy second hand shop or contact Jordan Doyle0876713265.

DEVELOPMENT DRAW
Tickets are now on sale for the grand Development draw with draws on 11th April, 16th May and 20th June tickets €50 from any player or committee member, your support would be greatly appreciated.

FIRST RESPONDERS
Carnew First Responders are looking for new people to join the group, if you have some time and would  like to be trained to adminsiter oxygen, do CPR and use an AED the next training weekend is 5th and 6th April. This is  a vital service to the area. Theres is a public Access  Defribillator on the Main Street outside McGirrs chemist and if you would like to be trained to use it, contact any of the group or Susanne0876204562.
