In 1988, six Arklow teenagers formed a band called China White. For the next two and half years they travelled all over Leinster gigging and entering talent competitions with great success. Their biggest achievement was walking away with the £1,000 winners cheque from the Rathmines Inn, Dublin.
Due to school, college and employment commitments they amicably went their separate ways but have been inundated for years with requests to do a reunion gig. So finally it’s happening. This Sunday night, March 16th in the Arklow Bay Hotel, China White will take to the stage to perform some of the old favourites from Blondie, Fleetwood Mac, Transvision Vamp and some new ones by Imelda May, Pink and many more.
DJ Donal Molly will also be there with “Kats Disco”. Event runs from 9pm-1.00am and doors open at 8.00pm
The line-up is: Martin Lynch, Drums. Pa Carley, Guitar. Trevor O’Sullivan, Bass Guitar. Karen Carter, Vocals. Glenn Kinsella, Lead Guitar
Tickets are currently selling from The Arklow Bay Hotel and ‘Le Chef’ Café, Main Street Arklow at €6.00 each. Any remaining tickets will be sold on the door on the night.
