After months of hard work and fundraising, the community of Wicklow is looking forward to the opening in a few weeks time of the skate park and outdoor adult gym which will be a much needed facility for young and old alike in Wicklow and the surrounding areas.

Pat was a founder member and only Councillor on the Committee for the Skate Park which raised over €10,000, securing a further €190,000 funding from Wicklow Town Council and County Wicklow Partnership.

Pat will be standing in the 2014 Local Authority elections for the Wicklow Consitituency Area and if elected will hope to continue her achievements from working as a Town Councillor since 2009 helping and supporting the people of Wicklow.

Said Skatepark and Outdoor Gym Committee member Brendan O’Flaherty:” As a longtime skateboarder and local activist for the provision of a skateboard park, dating back to 1990, I fully welcomed Cllr Pat Kavanagh’s involvement in the skatepark committee from the outset. Pat was instrumental throughout the past three years, working with the respective authorities and at ground level. I would fully endorse her candidacy for the upcoming elections, she has proved she will work for the community.”
