Hollywood Needs Your Help

A busy time is expected in the village of Hollywood again with preparations for the International competition LivCom 2014. This small rural village set in the heart of West Wicklow has been nominated to submit an application on every aspect of village life to be detailed in a written submission. Hollywood can boast over 35 community groups and organisations actively available for the local people to enjoy and be part of Hollywood and the surrounding areas. A photograph competition will be held to encourage participation by any budding camera enthusiasts. More details to follow.

The Hollywood Photography Competition

Only four weeks left to get snapping so brush off the winter cobwebs and take advantage of our emerging spring to get some spectacular photographs for the competition.

Take a look in the albums for past masterpieces taken throughout the years, as you know every photograph has a story to tell about our community along with its people and that is what we are looking for, the story of the village in picture form.

As part of the submission progression to the Liveable Community competition we want your photographs to take centre stage in our presentation as part of this story. The aim of the competition is to encourage community participation and become part of the process.

The three categories are centred on, Nature and Wildlife, the Village and surrounding Environment and Landscapes. There is two classes, adult and under 16s. The closing date for entries is Friday the 28th March 2014, judging will take place on Sunday the 30th of March in the Community Centre, after the 11.30 Mass and light refreshments will be served.

All entries should have; the picture title, competitors name, address and contact number clearly written on the back of each picture or on a label attached to the picture. The minimum picture size accepted is 8×10 and upward, framed or unframed. The entry fee per photograph is €1 which is to accompany submissions. Hand deliver or Post to the Hollywood Community Centre, Hollywood, Co Wicklow. Marked ‘Photography Competition’.   We would like to thank our main sponsor McGreals Pharmacy, Blessington for sponsoring the prizes, and the Hollywood Centre for facilitating the committee.
