Nearly five months after it first closed its doors, Gala, Main Street, Rathdrum finally reopened its doors this morning.
An institution in the local area for years its sudden closure before Christmas was met with shock by the local community. As well as being a busy local shop it also was a good employer in the town and was famed for its fresh deli produce.
Now under new management the shop’s reopening will be a boost for the local area and will also provide some much-needed jobs.
The shop has also been given a complete revamp and manager Michael Kelly has invited locals to come down and see for themselves the changes that have been made.
Local resident John Joe Mitchell was delighted to see the shop reopen. “It’s great to see the shop reopened, there has been big changes but it was missed when it was closed,” he said.
