In October 2012, an Alsatian named Bruno went missing from its home in Co Laois.
On Saturday his owner Mark got a call to say that he had turned up in Bray near the Boghall road.
Bruno had gone up to a car at a junction and put his paws up on the driver’s window as if to say “take me home”.
Luckily he chose the right car and a lovely woman called Mary and her young daughter took him to a vet who tracked his microchip.
Mark picked him up that evening and he went nuts when they met. Bruno had found his way home after a year-and-a-half.
“He’s very underweight but the same lovely character he was,” owner Mark said. “I never thought I’d see him again. Life can do the most amazing things sometimes.”
