Free online language learning at Dunlavin Library
Wicklow County Libraries is introducing online language learning for library users. You can learn to listen, speak, read and write a new language in your library or from home. Unlimited access to courses in over 8o languages, including English for beginners or intermediate is facilitated. Also featured is ‘learning on the go’ with BYKI Mobile, which is a rapid instructional system that can be downloaded to mobile devices.
If you’re not already a library member and want to avail of this new resource, drop in and join the library, it’s free to join, and we just need proof of address and current ID.
Dunlavin & District Forum
The Forum AGM will take place on Thursday 24thApril at 8pm in Scoil Nioclais Naofa National School.
We are the voice of the community in Dunlavin. The last 8 years have seen a lot of activity within the community and we look forward to making further developments in our community over the next year. The participation of people in the community needs to be real and the voice of every group must be heard so that we can represent every member of the community. This is a great opportunity to become more aware and informed of local projects and to become an active participant in your community.

An afternoon of prayer and healing will take place in Killaveney Church, Tinahely on Saturday May 3rd at 2pm. Eddie Stone will be in attendance and music will be by Louise Irvine. All welcome.
Horse riding and walking through the countryside
Organised by Donard Glen Equestrian Club and the Irish Long Distance Riding Association (www.enduranceireland.ie), this event is open to all riders. The 12 mile pleasure ride starts from 10- 12pm. If desired teams of 3 or 4 can be formed on the day to compete for the Lugatryna perpetual team trophy courtesy of Billy Kelly. There is a 10 mile race ride for the “Helen Kearney Cup” It starts at 12.30. Helen will present the cup to the winner in the early afternoon during the barbeque which is open to all to attend and support. The race ride promises to be a fun event. As is usual for such a race, the horse’s heart beat will be monitored before and after the race to make sure it is at the required level. For more details see www.endurance Ireland.ie
There will be hill walking to suit the all abilities starting from Donard school which will start at10am for the more strenuous and 11.30 for others.
