Greystones resident Sean FitzPatrick has been found not guilty of providing unlawful loans to investors to buy shares in Anglo Irish Bank.
The former Chairman of the bank was acquitted of all 10 charges against him.
The jury returned the majority verdict at the Circuit Criminal Court in Dublin after deliberating for 13 hours 29 minutes hours.
He smiled and shook hands with his legal team this evening as he left Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
After his acquittal on all counts Sean FitzPatrick issued a brief statement to the media thanking the jury for finding him not guilty and asking for privacy.
The jury will now resume its deliberations tomorrow morning in relation to the charges faced by former Anglo executives Willie McAteer and Pat Whelan.
