TINAHLEY WALKING CLUB

On Sunday June 1 the walk is at Lough Tay, (grade B, 14km/3.5 hours approx), meeting in Tinahely Square at 9.30am. On Sunday June 8 the walk is Kaideen, (grade B, 10-12km/3 hours approx), meeting in Tinahely Square at 10.00am. 

Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear. Full walking schedule is on the Tinahely Website.

VINTAGE RUN

Crablane Vintage Day June 1st beside the Crablane pub Coolkenno (just off the main Shillelagh to Tullow road) at 2pm.  


Attractions to include Irish Axe Men, Tullow Fire Service, Bagnelstown High Nellie Club, Tullow Ukele Band, Tullow Take Kwon Do Club, United Nations, Tractor Pulling, Carnew Tractor Builders and much more.  Admission is €3 and proceeds go to Aware.  Your support would be very much appreciated on the day.

OPEN GARDEN AFTERNOON 

Open Garden Afternoon at Mc Carthy’s Bloomfield House, Enniscorthy  on Sunday 8th June from 2-6 pm in aid of the Hope Cancer Support Centre. Free admission and refreshments. Contact 087-9027282 for more details.

 

Carnew Emmets Camogie Club

Thanks to everyone who supported and helped out at our Feile Fundraising Kids’ Table Quiz and Disco last Thursday night, May 22. We had a great turnout!

Our next Feile fundraising gig is on Friday, June 6, when Jorum will be playing in Kenny’s Pint Depot. This is a Jersey Night, so come along bedecked in your club or county colours! Tickets/entry €5. Tickets available from committee members, some shops in Carnew, as well as Tinahely and Coolboy post offices.Meanwhile, the U16s were pipped at the post by Glenealy last week, while our U14s had a great win over Annacurra. The U12s started their League campaign against Annacurra with a win, while the U8s and U10s are in serious training for their next blitz in Knockananna on 31 May.

SYMPATHY

Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Mollie Keogh, Ballyconran who died during the week and was buried on Thursday in Askamore cemetry.

To the family and relatives of Pat Farrell, Middlesex and formely of Kilcarry Clonegal who died during the week.

PLANT SALE

A plant sale will take place on this Wednesday 28th May at 3.45pm in Carnew Day Centre, bring a plant, buy a plant at great prices, everyone welcome in aid of Carnew Community Care.

COFFEE MORNING

A coffee morning will take place on Tuesday 3rd June from 10.30am – 12 noon in Siobhain Eades, 6 Tomacork View in aid of Friends of locla people with MS, sponsored by Drummin Woodcraft proprietor Timmy Doyle, all welcome.

PATRON

The annual patron in Askamore will take place on this Sunday 1st June at 1.30pm all graves must be left neat and tidy and all rubbish brought home please.

A field day will follow in Le Cheile Park with teas, cakes, bottle stall, bric a brac, books and much more in aid of Ballyellis National School, all welcome.
