Here’s a story to make you smile! Catherine Symes from Roundwood lost both her wedding and engagement rings almost 12 years ago on Friday the 6th of September 2002.

Her husband Oran best known for his company “Tiles at a Click” got a call out of the blue on Monday from a man in the HSE who found them in a lost property box in an office that was getting cleared out in Dublin.

He cleverly tracked the owners down through the engraved inscription on the inside of the wedding band; by initials and wedding date.

The rings had been found in the carpark of the HSE in Wicklow and handed in to the office presumably on the day Catherine must have dropped them.

From that day until now they have sat in a lost property box, buried in the depths of some office!!

We had long since given up hope of ever seeing them again. Our sincerest thanks to the employee at the HSE , or “Columbo” as his colleagues call him now!!
A decent honest bloke.
Fair play!!
