Wicklow boxing clubs to take on Caernarfon (Wales)

This Saturday 3rd of May will see Wicklow boxing club host a boxing tournament of a selection of boxers from throughout Wicklow county v Caernarfon boxing club, North Wales at the Grand hotel Wicklow town.

Clubs including Wicklow, Rathnew, Arklow, Ballywaltrim, Enniskerry and Ballywaltrim will join forces to take on the Welsh.

This will be the biggest ever Boxing event hosted in Wicklow town. In total there will be nine Welsh boxers v the county selection. There will also be a number of exhibition bouts for the younger Wicklow club boxers.

Doors open at 6.30 pm with exhibition bouts starting at 6.45 pm and the contests starting around 8 pm. St. Pats Football manager himself a former Wicklow county boxing champion, Councillor Gail Dunne will also feature in a bout v local auctioneer Eugene Dooley to raise much needed funds for the club.

There will be a fun themed weigh in taking place in Whistlers bar on Friday evening from 9 pm between Dunne and Dooley and all are welcome. For those looking for tickets, they can now pay on the door at the Grand hotel cost 10 euro or four for 30 euro.
