Bigger & Better – Ashford Dog Show, Field Day & Barn Dance 2014

The Ashford Dog Show has been running for the last 7 years and has grown from its humble origins to a fully established annual attraction for the local community and surrounding districts.

Rebranded under Ashford FEST the Annual Dog Show takes a quantum leap this year into a much bigger event incorporating a Field Day and Barn Dance to finish off a fun day involving all families and community groups within the Ashford area .  

Ashford FEST will hold its 8th Annual Dog Show on Sat. 5th July at Rathmore Holiday Village, Ashford starting at 2pm.  

A full Field Day programme of events include the Dog Show (Sponsored by Glanbia GAIN Dog Foods) , Tug of War, Football Clubs fun games,  Clay Pigeon Shoot,  Bouncy Castle & Slide, Pony Rides,  Stocks,  Stalls,  Kids pot a plant, Best dress Viking Kid,  Kids Drawing & Photo Competition,  Face Painting, Kids Lucky Dip, Set & Irish Dancing,  Wheel of Fortune,  Run a Pint Race,  Battle of the Bands and  Vintage Motors.  Available also will be a variety of food choices with  afternoon Teas & Cakes Café , BBQ Food,  Pop Corn & Ice Cream Vans. 


The day will end with a Barn Dance from 9pm in Rathmore Holiday Village and will include the Battle of the bands winner, Line Dancing, Auction a Man or Woman and Barn Dance Band.  A licenced Bar and Pig on Spit food plates will be available for the Barn Dance revellers to enjoy.

Community Groups and Artisans are invited to participate by taking up Stalls to promote and raise funds for themselves – contact Martina on 087 9873497. 

The show is organised by members of local Community groups made up of voluntary enthusiasts and club member representatives. Their prime objective is to create a Family Fun Day for the local community and visitors from the surrounding districts.
