All Ireland Hurling Feile
The u14 hurlers made history last weekend when they won the first ever national Féile na nGael title for Bray Emmets. The competition started on Friday afternoon with a win against our host club Monaghan Harps. The next day wins against Celtic Hurling Club (2-8 to 0-1) and Éire Óg/Corrachoill (6-9 to 1-2) ensured a slot in the quarter final where we met St Fechin’s of Louth and won the game on a scoreline of 3-5 to 1-4. The semi final proved to be our toughest game of the tournament but the lads rallied and won the game against Easkey Co. Sligo (2-10 to 1-4) to book their place in the final which was held at the Tyrone Centre of Excellance, where they beat Clann na Gael, Co Meath 4-9 to 0-1.
A tremendous amount of work, planning and fundraising went into the weekend and a huge thank you to the parents for their very successful fundraising efforts with the quiz and disco and to DJ McKay for helping us. Thank you also, to all our sponsors (further details in the notes and on the website) who supported the quiz and raffle.
During the weekend itself again parents were extremely supportive to the mentors in terms of logistics and pitch side assistance. Thank you also to the extended family members who came along to Monaghan over the weekend and a special thank you to younger sideline supporters for their cheerleading: Cíara, Kitty, Eimear, Rafe, Sarah, Síofra and Trish.
For four families it was a historic day as the youngest family members received their All Ireland Féile na nGael medal following many attendances by their older brothers at previous Féile over the years. Congratulations to Gavin Henderson, Cían Lohan, Andrew Conway and David Maloney. Staying on the topic of families the Kearneys now have two Féile medals in the household with brothers Ben and Sam lining out for the under 14 Féile team.
A final word of thanks to the host families and the host club Monaghan Harps for their hospitality to the team,, mentors and parents over the weekend. They looked after us all so well and were only too willing to help us in any way they could.

The U13 Footballers played a friendly against the Cuala first-team, Mon 16th June in Páirc Emmet Bhré. This was a difficult request of the Bray lads, but one they embraced head on. Eoin Fitzsimons was tidy in goal and out-field he had good back-up in Josh Pyper, Conrad Ruddy and the hard-working David Martin. In the second-half, Oisín Hayde, Stephen Reynolds and Conor Hardiman put in a big shift. Gavin Henderson, Seán McDonagh and Ben Murphy also played good Football for the cause. Bhain chuile dhuine an-taitneamh as an gcluiche cé go raibh Cuala níos fearr ar an lá.
