The club is still celebrating its great achievement in making it to the Division 4 Final in Feile na nGael in Ulster on June 20-22. The club was hosted in Bailieborough, Co Cavan and were pipped at the post by three points to one by Ballerin, Co Derry.

Over the weekend, the club fought very close games against host club, Bailieborough Shamrocks, Co Cavan (Bailieborough 0-2, Carnew 0-1), Castleblayney, Co Monaghan (Carnew 0-2, Castleblayney 1-0), Causeway, Co Kerry (Carnew 1-02, Causeway 2-01) which saw us qualify for the Shield quarter final. In Killeavy, South Armagh, a rousing scoreline of 10-02 to no score against Clontibret (Co Monaghan) launched us into the Shield semi-final.

That semi-final was played on Sunday morning, in Carrickmore, Co Tyrone, and a very close match against Westport saw us win out on a scoreline of 0-03 to 0-01. There were scenes of jubilation on the pitch to celebrate the club’s first participation in a national Feile final in our very first outing at Feile.

Sunday afternoon saw us in Garvaghy where, despite great heart and close battles, Ballerin, Co Derry emerged as Shield winners on a scoreline of 0-3 to 0-1. The girls were presented with their medals by Ulster Camogie Chairperson Bridghidin Heenan with Camogie Association CEO Joan O’Flynn also in attendance.

Overall, a great weekend with great memories of our first Feile. A huge thanks to the U14 team for their spirit and hard work over the weekend. Thanks also to mentors Shauna Keogh, Sabrina Kavanagh, Paul Kelly, and Anne Doyle.

Elsewhere, in the League, the U14s had a no-show by Bray Emmets on June 16 and beat Aughim on June 23. The U12s beat Knockananna (3-0 to 2-01) on June 17 and break now until July 25. Knockananna didn’t field against our U16s on June 25 with the U8s and U10s all set for their next blitz in Knockananna on July 5. Meanwhile, the U13 squad is being prepared for its championship which starts on July 11.
