Juvenile GAA

It has been a busy few weeks for the juvenile club. The U12’s have had some good results in the football league while the U12 hurlers have had a few mixed results. Please have a look at the Aughrim GAA website for a match report on all their games to date.

The U10 and U8 footballers continue to do well at the Go Games blitzes and while there is a great turn out for training every Tuesday evening, we are not getting the same turn out at the blitzes. We would ask parents to consider bringing their children to the blitzes as it is a great way to spend a Saturday morning, the kids certainly enjoy the occasion and the parents get a chance to have a chat with other like minded parents.

The U10 and U8 hurlers continue to do well, the U10’s played a blitz in Kilcoole recently and won all their games, while the U8’s enjoyed a great night in Ballinakill.

The U8 hurlers are doing remarkably well, with most already mastering the art of the hurling swing.  Aughrim hosted a hurling blitz on Friday night last, we would like to thank all our referees and the parents who helped out and contributed to making the night another great success.

We would also like to thank the kids for their fine performances, well done to all.  Just a reminder on the up and coming Kellogg’s Cul Camps, Aughrim are hosting the camp from Monday 21st – 25th July. 1st child €55, 2nd child €45, 3rd/4th/5th €40, it is open to boys and girls from age 6-13 and runs from 10am to 2.30pm each day, each child will receive a new Kellogg’s GAA kit and rucksack. You can register on-line or pay on the day. The camp is great value for money and it is a great way to get the kids out from under your feet during those long days of summer.

The Aughrim Juvenile Club would like to thank Aughrim Cabs most sincerely for sponsoring a new set of jerseys for the U10 Kids. We look forward to seeing the kids in their new gear in the coming weeks at football and hurling blitzes. Our U8s and U10s hurling blitz in Aughrim was cancelled due to the bad weather.

Our next outing is next Saturday morning in Shillelagh U8s U10s football Blitz hope to see you all there.
