Carnew Emmets Camogie Club

The club is busy preparing for the Family Fun Day in the Sportsfield, at 2pm, on Sunday, August 3. Organised by Carnew Emmets camogie and ladies football clubs, the Fun Day will be a riot of fun challenges from an obstacle course to target practice with footballs and sliotars, the much-loved duck race, win-a-goldfish and more. Younger children will be able to guess how many sweets are in a jar and do a lollipop lucky dip before getting their faces painted. Cake stalls and bric-a-brac will ensure the adults are kept entertained.

It promises to be a great day – see you in Carnew on August 3 from 2pm onwards for an afternoon of fun and craic.

On the playing field, it’s been another quiet week for the camogie club. The U12s played really well in a challenge match against Craanford last week but lost out in the finish. The U13s had a great win against Annacurra at home last Friday night in their first outing – and the quarter final – of the U13 Championshiop.  Meanwhile, the Cul Camps started on Monday and are running all of this week, so we expect to see a great improvement in skills amongst the juveniles!
