11 year Charlotte Wallis picked up a major award at the Wicklow Montessori Primary School for her creative writing skills, Charlotte won the Rebecca Miller award for two of her stories.
Daughter of American playwright and essayist Arther Miller , Rebecca said of Charlotte’s work ” In her story “Zach” she used sensory writing skills very effectively to make the story come alive.
In her second story “Blackout” I love the matter of fact way Charlotte handled the dramatic subject matter of a child killed in a bombing raid. Her lack of sentimentality made the tragedy even more shocking and her dry eyed, factual portrayal of the child’s last moments all the more moving. I think Charlotte is a gifted writer with the potential to develop a personal voice if she chooses to work at it, well done”.
