Gareth Farrell of East Coast FM reports as the warm weather continues, the Irish Coastguard is advising people going to the beach along the East Coast to watch out for heavy sea fog in coastal areas.
The warning comes after three teenagers had to be rescued yesterday evening on Sandymount Beach in Dublin. The girls became disorientated when visibility suddenly dropped to about 100 metres and because of the incoming tide, they quickly found themselves surrounded by water. They called for help on their mobile phone and Dun Laoghaire lifeboat managed to locate them.
Most of east Wicklow was covered in coastal fog yesterday, while west Wicklow enjoyed one of the hottest days of the year.
