Annual General Meeting
Dunlavin Community First Responders will hold their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday July 30th in the Imaal Hall at 8pm. Anyone who would like to be involved are invited to attend.
The arts festival committee are holding a meeting in Rathsallagh Golf Club on Saturday August 8th at 3pm. The aim of the meeting is to review this years festival and to plan festival 2015. Anyone with any ideas are invited to attend.

The death took place last week of Brendan Brophy, Church Terrace. Brendan who was 61 years of age and retired from the army had been ill for sometime. He is mourned by his sisters Jean and Mary, brothers Mick, Pat, Sean and Des and many relatives and friends, Brendan’s funeral took place on Wednesday July 23rd 2014 in Dunlavin with Military Honours. May Brendan rest in peace.

Remembering World War One in Blessington Library 22nd July – 16th August.
The year 2014 marks 100 years since the outbreak of the First World War, and Wicklow County Libraries and marking the centenary of the start of the first world war with an exhibition and talk by historian John Goodman on the impact of the war on County Wicklow and the men who went to the front.
The National Library’s ‘Gallant Sons’ exhibition will be on display in Blessington Library from 22nd July to 16th August next, this exhibit focuses on the experience of Irish men abroad during the war as well as the stories of families who were left behind.
In addition, a selection of items more specific to Wicklow will be displayed, these will include extracts from Union minutes sourced from the County Archives and letters to and from the front. The talk takes place on 29th July at 7 p.m. and the exhibition will be up until 16th of August. Free Admission and all welcome.
New Running Club
We walk / jog or run Monday / Wednesday and Friday nights at 7pm outside St.Kevins School in Dunlavin. This club is completely free. People can just turn up on the night and join people either doing a “Couch to 5K” or walk, jog or run.
We are on Facebook under “Dunlavin Running Club.”
The annual graveyard Mass will take place in Dunlavin Cemetery on August 24th at 7pm. Please let family and friends who do not live in the area know of the date.

Community text alert has been launched in the Dunlavin area. Residents can sign up for €10. Forms are in Ed’s Veg shop. People are urged to be vigilant at all times and contact the Gardai if the spot anything suspicious in the area.

Bingo takes place in the Imaal Hall every Saturday night at 9pm.Jackpot waiting to be won now stands at €1600. The funds raised by the Bingo goes towards the upkeep of the Imaal Hall and well worth supporting.
