The Scrap Metal Collection which takes place at Avoca Recycling Bank is in aid of The Conary Pure Mile. 

Support would be very Welcome. All the following items are welcome: Bicycles, Gates, Galvinised sheeting, Meta, Girders, Barbeques, Any metal items, Radiators, Pots and Pans, Back boilers, pipes, swings, scrap cars, tractor parts etc.

Conary Community Arts 

The Casper Organisation Present a talk on understanding and preventing Suicide and self harm on Thursday August 28th   7.30pm in the Conary Community Hall .

Avoca Courthouse heritage Centre 

A selection of old photographs are now on display in the old courthouse heritage centre also some genealogy records. Thanks to everyone who donated artefacts & photographs for the centre. Drop in and take a look around and take a trip back in time as you view some old photographs of the area.

 

Kilmagig Graveyard 

Mass and the Blessing of Graves will take place on Sunday the 24th of August “Saint Bartholomew’s Day” at 2pm

Administrator/Receptionist (Pobal) (Maternity Cover) 

Avoca Community Hall Co. Ltd Requires an Office Administrator/ Receptionist to cover under the Pobal CSP programme to cover for Maternity Leave. Duties will involve: General Office & Reception Duties. Computer literacy and Thesaurus Payroll an advantage.  A person with good communication and organisational skills as well as a pleasant manner would suit this position.

This is a Community Services Programme funded by Pobal. 

Eligibility criteria applies. Applicants must be prepared to complete a Garda vetting form.

South Wind Action Group will hold a Public Information Meeting in Annacurragh Community Hall at 8.00 p.m. on Friday 22nd August 

to discuss the threat posed to residents of  Ballycoog, Aughrim, Annacurragh, Ballymanus and surrounding areas by plans 

to install upwards of fifty wind turbines in the Croghan Valley area.
