Irish rugby legend Brian O’Driscoll has joined Glendalough Irish Whiskey, the company has announced. The former Ireland and Leinster star, will be on the board of the company as an investor.
The company, which was set up in 2011, will launch its first batch of whiskey – a seven-year-old Irish single malt – this month.
They will also launch a seasonal botanical gin in the Autumn, as well as a small batch of their summer gin which has been distilled from local Wicklow botanicals.
Managing director for the company, Barry Gallagher, said he was ‘delighted’ to have BOD on-board as an investor with the company.
Last year the company launched a range of craft poitíns like: Glendalough Premium, Glendalough Mountain Strength and Glendalough Sherry Cask Finish Poitín. They have also successfully launched the company in Australia and the U.S.
