TINAHELY WALKING CLUB

On Sunday August 31 there is going to be a coastal walk near Wicklow town (grade C), meeting in Tinahely Square at 9.30am. On Sunday Sept 7 the walk will be from Brocknagh to Glendalough (grade B, 14km approx), meeting in Tinahely Square at 9.00am. Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear. Full walking schedule is on the Tinahely Website. Midweek summer evening walks are discontinued; we’ll try again next year.

BINGO

There will be a bingo on this Sunday 31st August at 3pm in St Bridget’s Hall, Carnew, all welcome to come along, proceeds towards Christina and Niall’s Strictly Come Dancing Fund.

FUN RUN/WALK

A 5k race/fun walk will take place on Sunday 31st August at 11am from Kenny’s The Corner House, all welcome.

KNOCK TRIP

A pilgrimage to knock will take place on 27th/28th September going through Gorey leaving Carnew church at 8pm contact 0539426646 or 0872323966.

WORKING DAY

Carnew heritage club are holding their 10th annual working day on Sunday 21st September on the usual lands on the Main Carnew/Gorey Road the special feature this year is ford fordson car or tractor, the usual dog show, cutting and binding, harvesting potatoes, music, tents, teas, the Hillbillies will be there this year again making the colcannon, bread, tarts etc, tractor pulling and more. contact Fintan 0876985275.

TOUR OF CASTLE GROUNDS

A tour of Carnew castle grounds will take place on 30/31st August from 2 – 6pm admission €3 or €5 per couple. All Saints Church and graveyard are open to the public and tea/coffee are served in the school.

MUSICAL SOCIETY

Rehearsals for Carnew Musical Society’s A Christmas Carol will commence on Tuesday 2nd September in Carnew National School new members are most welcome.

BIG BREAKFAST

The Big Breakfast will take place in Le Cheile Park Askamore on this Sunday 31st August at 12 noon, come along and have some fun.  All Welcome.
