Congratulations to St Kevin’s Ladies soccer team who won the DWSL Subsidiary Cup final. There were great celebrations for a well deserved win.

Wednesday mornings 11 a.m.- 1p.m. for beginners and Tuesday evenings 7-9 p.m. for the more advanced at the Brockagh Centre. This course offers to help those with little experience of the internet. The course provides an easy step-by-step course where you will discover: email attachments, search engines, on-line transactions such as paying motor tax, podcasts, playbacks, on-line safety and security, skype, on-line banking, buying on line. This is a free 4 week course (2hrs per class) morning or evening, for those over 65 and costs €20 to those under 65. The even better news is that those who have done our previous Benefit 3 or Benefit 4 course are eligible for funding again. Please register your interest as soon as possible. Call us on (0404) 45600.
Laragh Glendalough Active Retirement
Our next monthly lunch takes place on the 7 October in the Wicklow Heather at 12.45 p.m. Positive Ageing Week takes place this year from 1st to 9th October. As part of this week Co Wicklow Network of Older People are organising their annual Brains of Wicklow Quiz which will take place on Friday 3 October at 2 p.m. in the Glendalough Hotel (the Perpetual Trophy is sponsored by the Glendalough Hotel). There are cash prizes, a table of 4 costs €40, and refreshments will be served. Bray Emmets 2-10, Carnew Emmets 0-10.
The Senior hurlers earned a place in the County Final which will be played on Sunday 5th October 2014 in Aughrim. This was definitely a game of two halves with the first have finishing Bray 0-2 Carnew 0-3. In the second half the lads upped their game and some well taken goals from Mikey Lee and points from Christopher Moorehouse, Mikey Browne and Tom Cash sealed the deal. We hope to see everybody in Aughrim for the final so make it a date in your diary today.

Bray Emmets 3–10 Baltinglass 1-12
Congratulations to the Men’s Junior footballers who beat Baltinglass in the Junior B semi-final on Sunday morning in Blessington In a very competitive match, the Bray lads worked very hard for the 60 minutes, driven on by the experienced veteran Ray Lambe, we ran out eventual winners on a score line of 3-10 to 1-12. We will meet Rathnew in the final, date and venue to be confirmed. We would like to thank the Ardmore for providing sandwiches after the game on Sunday. Congratulations also to both Ray and Shane Sullivan who both recently became proud fathers of two daughters.
Under 12 Girls Football
Emmet Bhré 2-7, Cuala 1-5.
The Under 12 Girls Football team played against a tidy Cuala side on Sun 21 Sept. The game began brightly with Emma Doyle and Emily Riddell leading the charge. Sinéad Quigley and Úna Smierciak tackled with conviction cutting out many Cuala attacks. In the second-half, Rachel Messitt was again outstanding in goal, with Eva Hanley and Fay Whelan contributing energetically too. Overall, a very fluid and free-scoring Bray too the honours. An exhibition of paintings entitled “Aspects of Bray”by Club Member Aideen Griffin will be showing in the Signal Arts Centre, Bray, Co. Wicklow. It will run from 30th of September to 12th of October 2014. It will be well worth the visit
