TINAHELY WALKING CLUB
On Sunday Sept 14 the walk will be at Church Mountain (grade B, 12km approx), meeting in Tinahely Square at 10.00am.Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear. Full walking schedule is on the Tinahely Website. Schedule for following two months will be published shortly.
 
SYMPATHY
Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Jimmy Doran, Munny who died last week and was buried in Askamore cemetery on Tuesday.

To the family and relatives of Johnny Nolan, Coollattin who died last week and was buried on Tuesday in Shillelagh cemetery.

CRAFT CLASSES
The annual craft classes will resume on Wednesday 17th September in Colaiste Bhride Carnew 1.30 – 3.30 and from 7 – 9pm in the VEC offices on the Main Street, for more details contact Eileen 0862584616.

CARD DRIVE
A 45 card drive will be held on Monday 29th September at 8.30pm in Askamore Hall in aid of Anna Kinsella and Alan Tobin’s Strictly come Dancing tickets only €2 or 3 for €5

 

CHESS AND DRAUGHTS CLUB
The club has a new venue and time this year we will now meet in Carnew Resource Centre, Carnew on Friday evenings at 6.30pm to 7.30pm commencing September 19th, all welcome.

COFFEE MORNING
Joan and Venie Kinsella will host a coffee morning in aid of the Irish Cancer Society on 18th September from 9.30 am – 2pm in St Bridget’s Hall, Carnew. LITTLE ACORNS AFTER SCHOOL
Little Acorns After School service in Carnew Community Playschool Monday to Thursday till 6pm, junior infants up to 6th class collect from school at 1.40 and 2.40 , 1.50 and 2.50  €6 per child or €10 for 2 contact Eileen on 0539423871.

ZUMBA FITNESS
Zumba fitness takes place in Carnew National School on Mondays and Wednesday’s at 8.45pm sharp, check out j’s zumba classes on facebook for prises and offers.

GROWING YOUR OWN FOOD

DANCING
Social dancing continues every Tuesday night in Askamore from 8.30 – 10.30pm. Set dancing will resume on 10th  September from 8 – 10pm, in Askamore  great fun and exercise, €8 nightly, all welcome.

HERITAGE DAY
Carnew Heritage club are busy getting ready for their 10th annual working day on Sunday 21st September on the usual lands on the Main Carnew/Gorey Road with the harvesting of potatoes, cutting and binding of corn, music, dog show, tractor pulling, the Hillbillies will be there again making the colcannon, bread, tarts, pancakes and more, roasting of the pig, and lots more, this is a great day out for all admission only €5 for adults children free.

CARNEW COMMUNITY CARE
The social afternoon group will recommence on Wednesday 10th September from 2 – 4pm. All welcome to come along.
Whist continues every Tuesday night from 8 – 10pm.

ST BRIDGET’S HALL
Anyone wishing to book St Bridget’s Hall for a function can contact the Enterprise Centre on 0539426555. Sincere thanks was expressed to Lizzie Kennedy, Main Street, Carnew for looking after the bookings etc for the last number of years and to Tom Culkin who was caretaker for many years and members of the Fas/C.E. scheme under Lar Duffy for their work.
