Conceived, designed and created by the local community of Woodenbridge the Garden of Remembrance for the people of Wicklow who lost their lives as a result of WW1 will be formally opened by Charles Flanagan, Minister for Foreign Affairs. Situated in a tranquil place on the banks of the Aughrim river the memorial consists of 15 columns of stone, each representing a town in Wicklow and inscribed with the name of those who perished. There is a total of over 1200 name from all corners of Wicklow. The park will be open to the public all year from the opening date.
