ARDMORE ROVERS FOOTBALL CLUB TAKES PART IN THE MCDONALD’S FAI ‘FUTURE FOOTBALL’ FINALS DAY AT THE AVIVA STADIUM
More than 250 boys and girls from 30 local football teams from around Ireland, including Ardmore Rovers under nine team from Wicklow scored a chance to play at the McDonald’s FAI Future Football Finals Day which took place at the Aviva Stadium on the 11th of October.
Participating teams were invited to stay on to cheer on the Boys in Green as the Republic of Ireland beat Gibraltar by 7 – 0 in Ireland’s first home game of their EURO 2016 qualifying campaign.
The McDonald’s Cup Finals day is part of McDonald’s FAI Future Football, a programme designed to promote the development of the game at grassroots level. McDonald’s Future Football programme has generated more than 60,000 additional hours of activity for over 7,000 children (under 8, under 9 and under 10) who participated in the programme this year.
