Bray Emmets 2-9 Glenealy 1-11
Bray Emmets have been crowned senior hurling champions after beating Glenealy by one point in a pulsating final in Aughrim this afternoon.
Playing direct hurling Bray got off to a flying start and took advantage of the wind, the seaside town went into the break with a two goal lead.
Glenealy came out in the second half like a team possessed and tore into Bray, it looked like one way traffic as the reds produced score after score, Enan Glynn stuck with a magnificent goal.
It looked more like it was going to be Glenealy’s day when Bray captain Peter Kiely was sent off, however it only seemed to spur Bray on and man of the match Christy Moorehouse put Bray ahead in added time.
Leighton Glynn had the chance to level the match with a free but it was sent to the right and wide.
Vice-captain Ronan O’Brien collected the trophy from County chairman Martin Coleman and Jackie Napier.
In the earlier final Bray beat Carnew to lift the junior title.
