Thousands of demonstrators marched against water charges in Dublin’s city centre this afternoon.

Cllr Tom Fortune said “As far as I am aware over 100’000 people turned up, I met people from Kilcoole, Greystones , Bray, Wicklow, Arklow and Blessington who felt it was their duty to come to Dublin today and stand up to this government.

Here in Wicklow up to a thousand people took part in a protest that took place in conjunction with the Dublin march.

The protest in Arklow began at the Father Murphy monument, passing by the Bridgewater Centre and the County Council offices before returning via the Main street.
