Hazardous Household Waste Collection

Hazardous household waste collection will be held at the Avoca recycling centre on Saturday November 15th. Time of collection is 10-12 and 2-4. Please bring along the following waste items: paints & solvents, batteries, fluorescent tubes, pesticides, herbicides, poisons, waste medicines, adhesives, inks and resins, caustic soda and waste oils, drain cleaners, cleaning agents and detergents, aerosols, photographic chemicals, oven cleaners, shoe polishes.

Active Retirement

Tai Chi classes have commenced on Tuesday mornings at 11am in the Pavilion. Why not join in? We are planning a shopping trip in mid November to Newbridge and Kildare Village. If you want to come along please let us know asap. Our Christmas Party will be on Thursday, December 11th in Brooklodge. Please book soon to secure your place. Lotto

The numbers 3, 5, 8, and 24 were drawn in the Aughrim sports club lotto on Monday October 27th. The jackpot was not won. Match three winners were: The Bolger family, c/o Deborah, Sal Holt, Darren Keegean, Barbara Curran, Anne Doyle, Joan Kelly, Tom Murphy, Rory O’Brien and Bryan Byrne, Cronawinna. The jackpot is €12000.

First Responders

Aughrim First Responders will be having their AGM Thursday November 6th in Sports Complex. The group would like to thank the association for the continued use of the hall for monthly training. We would also like to thank the Credit Union, Market Square, for allowing us locate the community defibrillator on their building, and remind the community that it is accessible at all times. Market

Aughrim Town & Country Market continues every Saturday morning, from 10-2. If you have not visited before you will be pleasantly surprised, we have a butcher, some bakers, even a candlestick maker! With talented craftspeople providing woollens, jewellery, jam, preserve and prints. Café cois Tine is always present for your tea/coffee/lunch. Due to the success of Repair Café it will be back at the market on Saturday November 8th. For more information contact 0860865838.

New to You

New to you thrift shop is open Tuesday-Saturday at the Pavilion, Rednagh Road. There are lots of bargains in fashionable clothes, bric-a-brac, items of furniture, toys and books. Paper bags and carrier bags are needed, so if you have any paper bags or carrier bags at home can we please have them, just drop them into the shop to us.
