5 years ago when SM Morris closed the Ballinclare Quarry near the landmark Tap Pub it led to an air of doom in the area.

“However I am delighted to be able to say that the Quarry and new expanded works is open with 7 employees and due to re-open fully ” said Cllr. Pat Casey FF.

The McKeown family of Kilsaran fame have bought the Quarry and fully intend to have up to 60 people employed by June of next year. This is a great opportunity for local employment explained Cllr. Fox.

Kilsaran is Ireland’s largest independent manufacturer of Concrete Products and ” both Chris Fox (chairman Wicklow Co. Council) and I were very pleased to be given a tour of the proposed Plant by Kilsaran’s Management Team” added Cllr. Casey.

This is a very exciting development with an investment of € 5 million and County Wicklow needs to encourage this type of enterprise said both Chris and Pat.
