Mass for the deceased members of Carnew Emmetts Gaa club will be held on Monday 3rd December at 7.30pm in Carnew.

WHIST DRIVE
All Saints N.S. Carnew are holding their annual whist drive on Saturday 29th November at 8.30pm in Colasite Bhride Carnew with valuable prizes, fun and refreshments all welcome.

PRESENTATION NIGHT
Carnew Heritage club are holding their presentation night on this Sunday 23rd November in The Lodge Carnew at 8pm anyone who helped on the day is most welcome to come along.

LOTTO
The winner of the Pride in Carnew lotto was Bernedatte O’Connor seller Mary Hall.

CAROL SERVICE
The annual Carol Service will take place on 12th December in All Saints Church Carnew all welcome.

AGM
The following were elected at Askamore Hall AGM chairperson Jim Martin, secretary Stacy Gilbert, treasurer Margaret Nolan and Mary Donohue.

The 45 card drives continue on Monday nights in Askamore Hall, all welcome.

STRICTLY COME DANCING
A very well done to the 11 couples Yvonne and Vinny, Ella and Neill, Erica and John, Mary and Paul, Maire and Seamus, Kevin and Nuala, Laura and Dinny, Majella and Jimmy, Christine and Niall, Anne Marie and James, Sue and Mick, who took to the stage last Saturday night in the Ashdown Park Hotel Gorey and gave an outstanding performance and entertainment to the crowd that attended to support them, many thanks to all who helped in anyway on the night or before hand, to the music, sound MC’S Tom Darcy and Michelle Doran who done an outstanding job, to Tara Ann for all the work she put in with the dancers and the judges on the night, Vinny and Yvonne, Seamus and Maire, Dinny and Laura, James and Anne Marie, John and Erica, Paul and Mary are now in the final on Saturday night against Askamore/Kilrush’s couples Anna and Alan, Mary and Alan, John and Geraldine, Tom and Joan, Paula and Jamie and Eamon and Reneta in The Amber Springs Hotel Gorey at 8pm tickets available from any dancer or committee member. Best of luck to all and very well done.

A flower arranging demonstration by Betty, Frances and Paula will be held in Carnew.

TINAHELY WALKING CLUB
On Sunday Nov 23 the walk is in Askinagap (grade B, 11km/3 hours approx), meeting in Tinahely Square at 11.00am. On Sunday Nov 30 the is Keadeen-Sliabh Reagh (Grade B, 11km, 3 hours approx) meeting in Tinahely square at 10.30pm. Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear. Full walking schedule is on the Tinahely Website.

Carnew Musical Society – A Christmas Carol –
The Irish/European premier of Ferguson and Greer ‘sversion of the Dickens Classic A Christmas Carol opens on Monday night next the 24th of November in St. Brigid’s Hall, Carnew and will run until Saturday the 29th of November commencing at 8 pm nightly.
Booking has been brisk for this popular show and the Society have included an extra performance, a matinee which will take place on Saturday the 29th of November at 2pm.
Carnew Musical Society are delighted to bring this wonderful nostalgic traditional Christmas tale to audiences in the run up to Christmas. The story has been a firm favourite for adults and children alike since it was published in 1843, so why not come along and join with Ebenezer Scrooge on his remarkable journey through Christmas Past, Present and Future and witness his transformation in this enchanting new version of the Charles Dickens Classic.

Concert
Join us for a special evening of music and song in St. Kevin’s Church Kilaveney, Tinahely on Friday 28th November – 8p.m. Performing artists will be newly formed singing group ‘Celtic Trinity’ – Denise Brennan, Avril O’Toole and Karen McGillycuddy, with very special guest Fr. Liam Lawton. Also featuring Denise Brennan’s ‘Vocal Academy Choir’ and Lambert Sisters Harpists. Proceeds shared by St. Kevin’s Church and APA A Partnership with Africa. Social Inclusion Week Event Supporting Mental Health

As part of Social Inclusion Week this year Carnew Training & Development Centre are facilitating a FREE workshop run by SHINE

The ‘Taking Control’ Workshop is about taking some time to focus on your own values, goals and wellness. It looks at practical ways to face life’s
challenges, whilst maintaining, developing, and taking control of your physical and mental wellbeing.

The aims of the workshop are:
. To raise awareness of already existing positive factors in one’s own life, internally and externally.
. To build resilience in the face of life’s challenges and setbacks.
. To enhance coping skills, especially pre-existing ones.
. To develop and support self-esteem and confidence

Over the past number of years, hundreds of people around the country have benefited directly from participating in this workshop.

The workshop takes place at Carnew Resource Centre , Mill Lane on Tuesday 25th November 2014 from 9am – 4pm.

MINORS
Congratulations to our minors who won their final against Ml Dwyers in Arklow and best of luck to them in their football final on this Saturday at 2.30pm against Arklow Gers in Dunbar Park, Wicklow. Well done to all.
