 GCA-Club-Notes
U13 – On Saturday November 1st, the U-13 GCA Squad had its End of Season review at Ballinakill. Players & parents were given a summary of the season by Manager Eoin Phibbs & his coaches. All players received a performance report & a questionnaire while parents were also asked for feedback in written form & received a guided tour of the Centre of Excellence from the GCA coaches. The centre-point of the day was a panel Q&A with guest speakers, Robert Lambert, Leighton Glynn & Kevin O’Brien. U14 – U14s are getting closer to full strength every week. Last Saturday saw the squad compete in a top quality in house match. The improvement in skill level and decision making was noteworthy in an intense match environment.
Next Saturday their physical improvements will be put to the test as we take on the u15s. We also commence our winter strength and conditioning programme as players are provided with the tools and techniques needed to progress in the u15 grade under the guidance of Gary Jameson.
U15 – Our U15 squad have stepped up the intensity of their S&C program under coaches Gary Jameson & David Burke. Gary reports significant improvements in this squad & plans for the transition to the 2015 U16 squad are on track.
U16 – U16s continue their strength and conditioning work with Gary Jameson. They have two gym sessions per week. Congratulations and best wishes to the significant number of our players who have recently been invited to join the Minor squad. We know they will do all of us proud. Because of this progression we would welcome some additional players from the clubs to join our academy squad.
