Meetings in Wicklow and Arklow tonight to discuss the water taxes

Meetings will take place tonight in Arklow and Wicklow town to discuss the water taxes.

At 7.30pm in the Arklow Bay Hotel Arklow Waste Water Group will hold a public meeting, local man Pauric Hyland and T.D Stephen Donnelly will be guest speakers.

The group invited Irish Water and The Minister For The Environment, and this is an open invitation to anyone in favour of the provision of a treatment plant for Arklow and/or against the proposed water charges.

In Wicklow town the County Wicklow Right2Water invites the people to join their fundraiser Quiz Night, The Leitrim Lounge, at 9.00 pm. €5 pp entry fee. There will be an assortment of prizes from several local businesses.

The money raised from the Quiz Night will be used to subsidise bus fare for those who wish to attend the National People’s Assembly, Leinster House, 1.00 pm on International Human Rights Day, 10th December.
A €5 deposit is necessary to secure a seat on the bus and we are hoping to reduce the total bus fare to €6. For more information call Maureen on 087 795 9958.
