The Tidy Towns and Knockananna Youth Project came together on Saturday morning to pay tribute to one of their great contributors, Seamus Byrne, who sadly passed away earlier this year.
A plaque was unveiled on the Tinahely Road. Both projects was very close to Seamus’s heart despite his ill health.
Kathleen Monaghan, Tidy Town Chairperson spoke of the gentleman, who negotiated with organisations and local farmers to get this work done and then completed some of the actual physical work himself. The plaque was erected by James Whelan and Milo Canna and made of local sourced granite.
