JUNIOR DISCO

Roundwood Variety Group will hold a Super Duper Fun Disco in Roundwood Parish Centre on Friday 28th November from 7pm – 9pm.  All primary school children are invited to come along for a great night of fun.  Admission €5 which includes a drink and a bar.  Tuck shop on the night.  Lots of spot prizes!

HISTORICAL JOURNAL LAUNCH

Roundwood & District Historical & Folklore Society would like to extend an invitation to our members and the general public to our latest Journal Launch on Saturday 22nd November at 730pm in Roundwood Parish Centre. We are delighted to announce that Film Maker, John Boorman, will officially launch Journal No.25. The publication is packed full of interesting local history from cover to cover and includes articles on a wide variety of topics of local interest such as…1914 Remembering Roundwood’s Fallen, Life at the Glendasan Mines, Moneystown Work Horses, 1995 – The Year Miley came to Roundwood, Aghowle House Fire 1905, Roundwood’s Water Pollution problem of 1874, Memories of Moneystown & Park Bog and much more!! CAR BOOT SALE/MARKET

On Sunday 16th of November from 12-5 pm Roundwood Parish Hall and The Home Producers Market will be holding a Car Boot Sale and Christmas Craft Fair.  Christmas Cakes, Puddings, Mince Pies, handmade Knits and crochet, plants, jams and much much more.  Please come along and join us  For more information please contact Jennie on 087-3932730 or [email protected]

 

BRIC – A – BRAC

We are looking for any donations of Bric – A – Brac for our stall at the Car Boot Sale Donations of any unwanted household items would be gratefully received during Parish Office Hours. No clothes or soft toys and electrical items only if boxed and in working order. Don’t Bin it – Donate it..!

 

SET DANCE CLASS 

Set dancing classes commenced on the 5th November at 8pm in The Mill Room, Kilcoole .  Classes for all levels.

 

AVONDALE COMMUNITY COLLEGE TALK

On Monday, November 24th at 7 pm, Avondale Community College will host guest speaker John Lonergan. The former governor of Mountjoy prison will be presenting a talk on “Parenting – the challenges and the rewards”. Everyone is welcome to attend. SET DANCE NIGHT

There will be a Set Dance Night in The Mill Room Kilcoole every Wednesday 9pm.  Music by Michael & Brian  starting on the 23rd October.  Come along and join in the fun!

 

SHRINES OF FRANCE

A trip to the shrines of France will take place from 11th to 18th April, 2015 for seven nights, visiting Lourdes, Rocamadour, Nevers, Paris and Lisieux.  The total cost is €799 per person sharing.  Details are in the church porch.  Deposit of €200 should be paid as soon as possible and the balance of the oney before 1st February, 2015.  For more details please contact Susan O’Neill a t 0404 45276 after 8pm.

 

LOTTO RESULTS

There was no jackpot winner in last weeks draw.  The numbers drawn were 2, 7, 11 &16.  There were six match three winners, Pat Carr, Denise, R. Crean, A. Healy, G. Malone & Pat Molloy.  Next weeks jackpot will be, €14,600

PARISH SALE OF WORK 

Our Parish Christmas Sale of Work will take place on Sunday the 7th Dec, 12-4pm in the GAA Complex so get your Christmas Jumper & Santa Hat ready it will be a great day out with something for everyone including Wheel of Fortune, Bottle Stall, Flowers Swags & Table Centres, Teas, Big & Small Raffles, Home Baking, 6th Class Stall, Bric a Brac, Auction, Gold Fish, Books, Roulette, Face & Nail Painting, Loom Bands, & Totoo’s, Christmas Carols & much more you will also be able to purchase the 2015 Roundwood Calendar and order or purchase your Club Gear. Giggles will be in attendance & Santa will be there to meet all the children.  Donations for all the stalls and attractions are very gratefully received on the day or can be left in with Maureen in the Parish Centre during 9.30am-12noon daily for further queries contact Caroline Sillery at 086 171 4973

 

THANK YOU

Fr. Peter and the Bethany team thank very sincerely all the families who attended the Annual Mass of Remembrance/Service of light last weekend.  We also thank those who came along to give their support.  We would like people to know that in order to facilitate the bereaved in coping with their loss the cut-off point for inclusion in this Mass each year is six weeks. i.e September14th.

 

MONEYSTOWN DANCE3

Moneystown dance   with The Wicklow man will play in Moneystown Community Centre on Friday 14th November from 9.30pm till 12. Teas, refreshments available, door prizes.  Come along n enjoy a night of waltzing etc

 

ATHLETICS

The annual club AGM will take place on Thursday 27th November 2014 at Aras an Tochar at 8pm. Please try to come along to this important meeting as we will be outlining some exciting plans for our future.  Cross Country:  Round 2 (Uneven Ages) of the Wicklow Juvenile Mini Cross Country League is on November 14th at Rathdrum Rugby Club. Registration 6.30pm.  Race starts at 7.00 pm.  These are great fun races which all the kids love and there’s a race for everyone, even the tots. Medals are awarded at the end of the league based on how many races your child takes part in so bring them along. Please confirm to Anita or Aileen that your child will be attending so they can get the paperwork sorted in advance

 

P.T.A.A. DANCE

The Pioneer Total Abstinence Association are holding their annual social in ROUNDWOOD parish hall on Friday 21st November with music by tony Davitt.  If anyone is due their gold or silver pin could they contact Sheila or any member as soon as possible to organise presentation on the night. All are welcome to join us for a good night of dancing. 

 

CABARET

There will be a cabaret in The Royal Hotel in Glendalough will now be on Saturday 29th November instead of Saturday 15th November in aid of the Senior Citizens Christmas party.  Your support will be welcome.

 

SET DANCING

Set dancing in Kavanagh’s lounge every Thursday night with live music for the rest of this month and October with Michael and Brian. Session from 9pm until 11pm. Visitors to the area and beginners are always welcome. If you would like a quick lesson on the steps before the session begins just give Sheila a call on 087 2121522.

 

ANGEL HEALING

Angel Healing takes place every Monday night at 7.30 in the Parish Center, Roundwood Village. It is non denominational. Come along, to a night of Meditation ,Relaxation and Spiritual connection, . For more information contact Mary 087 9819420

ZUMBA CLASSES

Zumba classes recommence in Roundwood Parish Centre at 7pm every Tuesday night with Adam. If you’re looking for a really fun way to tone up and loose lots of calories, this is the class and it’s amazing the fun you will have working out! Cost €6 per class

 

SECOND HAND BOOKS FOR SALE

Second Hand Books now on sale in the Parish Hall. All proceeds go towards the Parish Hall Fund. Huge variety available. We will gratefully accept all donations of books to help our cause
