The communities of Glenealy, Rathnew, Ashford, Wicklow town and beyond are in shock this morning following the death of popular Glenealy man Hayden O’Flaherty.
Hayden (22) died when his car hit a ditch close to Rathnew last night, his brother who was with him in the car was unharmed.
Friends have taken to social media to express their shock.
One friend posted “A light went out in Glenealy last night as well as the whole County.. Thoughts and prayers are with Hayden and his family and of course his many many friends.. Never a dull moment with Hayden he was always sure to crack a joke and make you laugh.. He’ll be the brightest star in the sky from now on.. Sleep tight Farmer, Rest in Peace.”

O’Flaherty, 6 Carrig View, Glenealy, 9th November 2014 (tragically following an accident) Hayden. Beloved son of Vincent and Anne, brother of Vinten, Vincent and Karol. Sadly missed by his sorrowing parents, brothers, Nannie and long term girlfriend Jamie, uncles,aunts, cousins and a large circle of friends.
Reposing at his home from 2pm on Tuesday. Removal on Wednesday morning at 10.30am to St. Joseph’s Church Glenealy, arriving for Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Rathdrum Cemetery.
