Hollywood notes December 1



Bingo takes place in the Hollywood Centre every Thursday night at 8.30pm. We have two jackpots – €3,000 and €1850 to play for each week.



Our Lotto jackpot now stands at €9,400. Get your tickets for the next draw 6th November from the Hollywood Centre, Daly’s shop and local sellers.


Acorns Playschool

There are still Pre-School places available on the ECCE scheme. Also part-time Play School places available.  Please call Bernadine on 087 2406316.


Friendship Club

Friendship Club takes place every Wednesday from 2.15-4.15pm. Always an open door and a welcome to all, a chat, a game of cards, bingo and a cuppa.


Ballymore/Hollywood Boxing Club

Ballymore/Hollywood boxing Club training takes place in the Hollywood GAA Centre for boys 10 years and over at 7pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. Training night for under 10 years is on Fridays at 7pm. New members always welcome.

Bowls takes place every Tuesday and Friday in the Hollywood Centre from 8-10pm. New members are always welcome.


Adult Badminton

Adult Badminton every Wednesday at 8pm-10pm.  Wednesday 12th November is registration night for all adult members.  Cost €28.00 for membership and insurance.  New members welcome, please come along, it’s a great way to meet new people & a great social night.


Sponsored Walk

Sponsored walk in Hollywood on St. Stephen’s Day in aid of KARE, Blessington. Supporting for new bus for KARE.


Set Dancing

Set dancing takes place in the Hollywood GAA Clubhouse (Dunlavin Rd) each Thursday night at the new time of 8.15-10.15, Light refreshments served. Subscription €5. All welcome.


Hip Hop

Hip Hop takes place every Friday in the Hollywood Centre from 4-6pm. For more details contact Sinead on 087 2924559.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is scheduled to take place on Saturday December 6th. Motions and Nominations to Tom Kelly prior to Sunday 30th November.


Many thanks to the large crowd who supported the annual Social Night. Thank you to Martin Coleman, County Chairman, for attending and presenting the Hennessy Cup medals. The club announced the Player of the Year awards for 2014, congratulations to Harry Wilson (Senior), Stephen Burke (Junior) and Conor Burke (Young).


Congratulations to Richard Burke on winning 1st prize in the recent Blessington GAA Car Draw. Richard drove away with a new Dacia Duster.  


Congratulations to Garrett Corrigan on winning the November free members draw. Garrett won a €40 voucher for The Hollywood Inn. Many thanks to the Hollywood Inn for the kind sponsorship of the prize. “Celebrating a life”

West Wicklow Day Care committee are erecting a 25ft Christmas tree in the grounds of Baltinglass hospital in celebration of the lives of our friends and family who are no longer with us. You can shine a light in memory by sponsoring a light for €5 on this Christmas tree. In return you will also receive a card for your Christmas tree.

Light sponsorship and card are available in the following outlets; Kiltegan FAS office, Rathdangan Community shop, the library, Jimmy Burkes, Fishers, Daisy a Day in Baltinglass or text Mary at 087 2221851.

Christmas tree lighting carol service will take place on December 14th Dec at 5pm in the hospital grounds. All welcome.

All proceeds go to West Wicklow Day Care.”
