Arklow RNLI says Respect the Water

RNLIWith the cold, rough winter weather firmly upon us, some of us are starting to think of warmer days ahead and getting back to the beach, the boat or walking along the waters edge.

Arklow RNLI’s Lifeboat Sea Safety Officer Mark Corcoran is advising everybody to Respect the Water, “Whether you’re going out for a walk, going down to the boat or whatever it is you do near the water, we’re asking people to stop and think is there anything you can do to ensure your own safety.

As the year starts off our Sea safety team are again making our various presentations available to clubs, schools, businesses and individuals for free.

All of our public events will be publicised here or indeed through Arklow RNLI’s social media pages over the coming weeks and months. If you would like to set up a free water safety event or workshop at your club, school or workplace please contact Mark Corcoran at 0402-33505 or 0868260439 or email [email protected], we also have Volunteer Lifeboat Sea Safety Officers available from each Lifeboat station who will be happy to meet you to give you Free Advice ashore or aboard before you put you’re boat back to sea/lake/river, so whatever size you’re boat is, feel free to give us a call.
