Garda make appeal after pensioner mugging

Gardaí in Bray have appealed for witnesses to what’s been described as a vicious attack on a 84 year old woman in the town late last week.

At around  5:10pm last Friday the elderly woman was knocked to the ground on the Quinnsboro road and had her handbag stolen.

Garda Declan Lynch speaking on East Coast Fm’s Morning show said  “They have progressed the case with one arrest, but believe others may have been involved.”

Gardai in Baltinglass are also appealing for witnesses to a burglary in Donard on Monday evening.

At approximately 7pm a male in his 50’s was assaulted as he entered his home. He was put in a room and the house ransacked.

The male raised the alarm and was taken to Naas Hospital where he remains. His condition is described as stable.
