It’s a wild night out there now and although Wicklow has escaped the worst of the storm, there is reports of a number of fallen trees across the county.
The road between Rathdrum and Wicklow is partially blocked at the turn off for Deputy’s pass due to a fallen power line. Gardai are at the scene so approach with caution.
North Munster, Connacht and West Ulster are experiencing the worst of the weather. Earlier this evening, Mace Head recorded hurricane force gusts of 140 kmh.
There are power outages in Mayo, Galway, Cavan, Longford, Westmeath, Clare, Kerry, Cork and Waterford. However, conditions are expected to improve as the night progresses.
