The community of Arklow were saddened to hear of the passing of one of the town’s music legend’s Larry Kenny this morning.
Friend and founder of the Arklow Music and arts page Yvonne Kenny posted “It is with regret this morning that I have learnt of the passing of a great trumpeter, clarinet & sax player and a real character of Arklow Larry Kenny.
I had the pleasure of playing alongside him in a band one time.
He was great fun & I thoroughly enjoyed his company.
May he be making sweet music up there tonight with the rest of the Showband Legends & his good friend Peter Power who have left us.
I would like to take this opportunity to pass on my condolences to the Kenny Family. RIP Larry xx.”
Arklow musician Emma Cullen interviewed Red Seven/Columbia Showband of which Larry was a member.
