Wanderers face anxious wait after licence bid rejected

Bray Wanderers future in next seasons SSE Airtricity League remains in doubt after the club was refused a licence by the FAI’s Club Licensing Committee yesterday.

The club have been asked to provide more detailed information on their proposed revenue streams for the forthcoming season and  they must resubmit an application for a licence by next Monday’s deadline.

It is believed that if the club provide the information requested then a Premier Division licence will be granted when the committee meets again next Monday.

This will add to the problems the Seagulls’ have had off the field in recent months, in January they were forced to issue a statement following fraud claims of irregularities concerning €450,000 of state grants.

As it stands there will only be five teams in next years First Division after Athlone Town and Cobh Ramblers also had their applications turned down.
