It looks like we could be in for a bit of a rough night as storm force winds are set to batter most of the Country.
The worst of the weather is likely to be in Ulster and Connacht, with winds set to reach 120kmh+ in places. It won’t be as severe in Leinster but we can still expect some disruption.
Wicklow Weather have predicted that gusts will reach 90kmh to 110kmh in exposed and coastal areas of Munster, South Connacht and Leinster.
The next 56 hours looks a mixed-bag with hail, sleet and snow all on the cards. While most of the snow will fall on high ground, wintry precipitation cannot be ruled out between tonight and Tuesday.
Those who have to commute in the morning should exercise caution as some roads, particularly secondary ones, could be littered with debris and fallen trees.
There could also be cancellations to sea, rail and air travel in the worst effected areas. Power outages are also possible in areas.
