Aughrim notes March 23

Aughrim

Gaa News

We played our first league game of the year on Sunday last against Avondale. It was a high scoring open game played in a very positive way by both teams. We lost out by 6 points in the end on a score line of 3 -13 to 3 -7. It was a very encouraging start to the League and had we converted some of the goal scoring opportunities we created then the result would have been a lot closer.

The Club would like to wish a speedy recovery to one of the Avondale players who sustained a shoulder injury during the course of the game. The Aughrim team on duty on the day were Cillian Donegan, Conor Lambert, Liam Keenan, Oisin Doyle, Jason Doyle, Robert Lambert, Jack Byrne, Stephen Mann, Andy Holt, Patrick Phelan, Mick Brennan, Conor Phelan, Derek Kavanagh, Richard Keegan, Billy Byrne, Danny O’Hare, Eoin Forsyth, Paul Lacey, Rian Dillon, Danny Owens, Peter Quigley.  All in all a very positive performance and one that we can build on for the future.
