CONCERT  FOR TIGLIN CENTRE

There will be a Concert in Roundwood Parish Centre on March 28th at 7.30 pm to raise funds for Tiglin Centre, Ashford.  Unity Gospel Choir will be performing on the night and tea, coffee and treats will be provided with some great prizes to be won in the raffle.  This promises to be an uplifting evenings entertainment, supporting a fabulous local charity.  Don’t miss it !  Tickets are €10 and are available at the door or can be booked in advance by contacting: Deirdre  086 8945899 or Una  087 7746113.

MASS FOR THE SICK

If you, your family, a relative or friend or neighbour are suffering from an illness, or are troubled in mind or body, we invite you to join us at our Special Mass on Monday of Holy Week (March 30th ) at 7pm in Roundwood Church.  At this Mass we will have special prayers for the sick, and for those wishing to avail of it, there will be anointing with oils.

TABLE QUIZ

Moneystown Community Centre are holding a table quiz on Friday 24 April at 8.30 pm in Kavanagh’s of Roundwood in aid of Moneystown Community Centre. Table of four €40.

 

CAKE SALE & COFFEE MORNING

Moneystown National School parents committee are holding their annual cake sale and coffee morning in aid of Moneystown National School on Friday 27th March from 9a.m. To 1.30pm in Moneystown Community Centre. Raffle on the day, first prize is dinner for two and an overnight stay in the Glendalough hotel,  and many more great prizes. All are welcome.

 

HOME PRODUCERS MARKET

Roundwood Home Producers Market re-opening on Sunday 29th March in the Parish Hall,  Roundwood.  Times 12 noon to 5pm.  We will have home baking, jams, vegetables, crafts, plants and much more.  New members always welcome

 

DIAMOND BRIDGE CLUB.

Seamus Kennedy and Gaye McGettigan took 1st place for North/South on Monday 16th March, 2nd Paddy O Brien and Margaret Bolger, 3rd Maura Gaskin and Kathy Halpin and 4th Nancy O Brien and Gertie Fee.    1st for East/West were Catherine McGillycuddy and Brid Clancy, 2nd Rachel Judd and Molly Byrne, 3rd Phil Power and Brid Clancy and 4th Marie Kavanagh and Ann Kennedy.

 

002 BRIDGE CLUB

Ger Lenihan, Paddy O Brien Bridie Nolan and Kay Plunkett shared 1st Place for North/South 3rd Monica Brady and June Digby 4th/5th were Marian Davis, Teresa Leahy , Nancy O Brien and Catherine McGillyucuddy.   East/West 1st place went to Noeleen Redmond and Margaret Bolger, 2nd Maria Magee and Rowena Brady, 3rd Molly and Margaret Byrne and 4th were Mary Pierce and Triona Woodroofe.

 

HISTORICAL AND FOLKLORE SOCIETY

Pat Power, Renowned Historian will give a talk on Monday the 30th of March at 8.30 p.m in the Old School House, Roundwood, entitled  “Reading a Graveyard.  Symbolism in Wicklow Graveyards from 1700 to 2000.”This will be a very interesting talk by Pat Power and all are welcome .  The Society’s 25th Journal is now available for sale and contains many articles of local historical interest.  The price of the Journal is €7.00 and would be a nice present, particularly for people overseas.  The Roundwood and District Historical Society always welcomes new members

 

PERSONAL ALARMS

The Roundwood and District Community Council are registered to administer the senior alert scheme which provides grants to elderly people towards the provision of personal alarms. The personal alarm offers reassurance to allow independent living, safe in the knowledge that you can quickly be in contact with a family member or neighbour in the event of an emergency. HUMPTY DUMPTY

Roundwood Humpty Dumpty Playgroup is on as usual this week (March 25th) but will be taking a break over the Easter school holidays.  We’ll be back from 10-11.30am on Wednesday 15th April in the Parish Hall. Come along and let the little ones play while you have a cup of tea and a chat!  €2/€3.50 for Cuidiu members/non-members  All Welcome!
